Through our collaboration with GAGA UK, we proudly sponsor Class P5B - a group of 35 bright, eager students based near the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

A joyful end to term

Between March and June 2025, Class P5B engaged in a rich and eventful term. As the semester closed in May, the children sat their end-of-term exams with focus and determination.

The term ended in celebration, with games like tug-of-war and capture the flag, followed by a community lunch of home-cooked Tanzanian dishes shared by teachers and staff. These moments highlight not only academic achievement but also the joy and camaraderie that define the KYGN ethos.

Dealing with adversity

The past year hasn’t been without its challenges. Torrential flooding in April and May forced KYGN to close for weeks, redirecting precious resources toward emergency repairs. But adversity sparked action.

With the support of Adiuvo and guidance from GAGA UK, the school is now developing a new Flood Defence System to protect against future disruptions. It's a simple yet powerful initiative which can help ensure learning opportunities remain open.

Improving learning through technology

In today’s world, digital literacy is vital. That’s why one of the most exciting projects at KYGN is the development of a computer room. This initiative, still in its early stages, will open up a whole new world for students in Class P5B, equipping them with essential skills and connecting them to global opportunities. Our support is helping lay the foundation for this digital leap, ensuring no student is left behind in a tech-driven world.

Cleaner energy, brighter days

Adiuvo’s commitment extends into the kitchens as well. In response to Tanzania’s national Clean Cooking Strategy, KYGN is building a biogas system powered by cow dung. It may sound unconventional, but it’s a sustainable, scalable solution.

The first phase consisting of building the kiln and importing materials from Kenya is complete. Now, with specialised biogas pots and the introduction of dairy cows, the school is creating a cleaner, safer cooking system that can even generate income through milk sales.

Why this matters

It’s easy to see sponsorships as numbers on a spreadsheet. But we feel it's important to know the names, faces, and futures. We see Sir Alhaji, the beloved teacher of Class P5B. We see students learning, laughing, and leading. And we see how our support translates into real, lasting impact.

Looking ahead

We’re proud of what’s been achieved and even more excited for what’s to come. From finishing the computer room to supporting the next phase of biogas development, our journey with KYGN and Class P5B is far from over.
